A Beautiful Addiction!
Hi, I’m Louise De Masi, a professional artist and qualified teacher who teaches others to paint in watercolour. For over 23 years, I’ve had the pleasure of living in the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia. My home sits on 25 acres adjacent to state forest.
The natural world is a fundamental aspect of my daily life, and the bird life in my garden is abundant. I find peace in nature, and the music of birds and the beauty of flora and fauna keep me grounded.
Art is Part of my Life.
Art has been a part of my life since primary school and when I left high school, I had a number of jobs, including signwriting. Working as a signwriter led me to begin painting in acrylics, and for many years, I taught others how to paint at a local art studio.
But after nearly a decade of doing that, I grew tired of painting in acrylics and the joy of painting was lost on me. That was until I discovered watercolour in 2011. At that time, I was also working as a primary school teacher. In 2014 I retired from teaching and decided to work on my painting career full time.

Exciting Career as an Artist
Since then, I’ve built an exciting, creative career. One where I’ve sold thousands of paintings around the world, licensed some of my work (both here in Australia and in the USA) and co-authored a watercolour painting instruction book titled 'The Art of Painting Sea Life in Watercolor'. In 2019 I started teaching online watercolour classes on both Skillshare and Patreon.
I also have a YouTube channel where I share my painting techniques and tips about painting in watercolour. Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter because I provide lots of advice about painting in watercolour and information about new classes.

Aside from painting, I am the proud mother of three grown children and a grandmother to a beautiful little boy who makes my life complete. I’m a tea drinker, a bit of a neat freak and I am addicted to chocolate.
